John Gardner’s wonderful quote about philosophy and plumbing serves as an inspiration for this column about the lofty promise and stark realities of talent management. The notion of both quality plumbing (the daily task of talent work) and quality philosophy (the theory of talent excellence) needing to ‘hold water’ rings true.
